Sarah
has created large scale drawings of the industrial landscape
for many years; using snatched glimpses from trains or cars
to make thumbnail sketches, which are then worked up into
large-scale pastel drawings. The work is bold and bright –
celebrating this country’s industrial heritage and the
many people who work in it.
Moving
to studios at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens in 2002 inspired
the creation of many new and aesthetically refreshing works
from her large collection of sketches. Sarah started to explore
themes in series, for example Pipeworks and Towers.
With
her partner, Stash Krakiewicz, Sarah has opened a gallery
at Norton Priory Gardens. The Kitchen Gallery is a showcase
for thier work and can be visited by appointment.
