The Kitchen Gallery is an
artist-run-space to showing contemporary art in the
Northwest and particularly represents the practices
of Halton artists.
Artists Sarah
Nicholson and Stanislaw
Jan Krakiewicz had been working in the old potting
sheds of the beautiful Walled
Gardens of Norton Priory for some time and since
starting the Kitchen Gallery in 2003, they welcome all
visitors to their Gallery and studios throughout the
Summer Season by appointment in the Winter.
After the last three years
of unprecedented success the Kitchen Gallery it has
grown in popularity, with artwork and events
that are always well attended and an on-line presence
so that a wider public can enjoy the exciting artwork.
Visitors will have the opportunity
to see the artists’ studios, to discover more
about the artists’ practices and to buy a unique
artwork for the home or workplace.
The artists have a very close
relationship with Norton Priory Museum and Gardens,
leading to a partnership that enables the artists to
locate installations and interventions throughout the
Walled Gardens and woodland. Norton Priory is a 12th
century monastery that was a finalist for the Gulbenkian
Award in 2004 and a beautiful location itself full of
exciting artworks.
You can purchase artwork of
artists with growing local and national reputations.
Or you can visit and meet the artists in the gallery
and have a tour of the studios.
We look forward to welcoming
visitors old and new to the Kitchen Gallery during the
2007 season of April to October. Don’t forget
if you can’t call on us during our normal opening
times of Friday to Sunday 1.30 - 4.30 please phone or
send us an email, we’ll be happy to arrange an
appointment for you.
The latest addition to the growing
reputation is the You
Are Here exhibition.
