"Excess” is a new work created for the group exhibition Bright Young Things at Headspace in association with Independents Liverpool Biennial & Long Night and is loosely themed around Stephen Fry’s film adaptation of the book ‘Vile Bodies’ by Evelyn Waugh. Requiring intense concentration and illuminated magnifying glass, this has been a labour of love forming a surface of dazzling and bewildering opulence in vintage beads and glowing with soft light. The repetitive nature of the process has been a rewarding and almost meditative experience.
